Johnnie Fiori is an actress, singer song writer; she was the guest medium on televisions Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live between 20007-08. Johnnie is also one of the psychic mediums on “Living with the Dead” along with Ian Lawman which is shown on Living and is currently on its second series. Johnnie was born a natural sensitive and likes to describe herself as a guidepost with a heart. She grew up in a small rural town in America surrounded by a large family whose matriarch was her Great-Grandmother, Magnolia Sweet, who was the first adult to recognize her special gifts when Johnnie was only a small child. Johnnie was not the first in her family to show special abilities and comes from a long line of spiritual readers and healers. She feels blessed that her Great-Grandmother nurtured her gifts and showed her how to embrace the things that she could not see but she could so acutely feel. Johnnie says, “My gift comes through me, not from me”. She has been called many things including clairvoyant, medium, psychic and healer, but she is most comfortable with the term sensitive.

How does a small town girl from an mining community get involved in the paranormal?

Well I was born this way. My Great-grandmother nurtured my gifts; I have never known any other way.

When did you realise you could interact with the spirit world and what was it like?

I was 3 years of age and I saw my Grandfather in spirit. I didn’t talk with him verbally, he spoke to my heart.

Did you receive any help or guidance when you realised you had a gift?

My Great-grandmother. The fact that she was Native-American gave me a chance to develop in a completely organic environment.

Can you remember your very first Investigation?

My very first investigation was a Tudor home in Llanvihangel Crucorney, in South Wales.

What investigation really got you excited?

I have to say hands down Hever Castle, the historical associations with the Boylene family and The American family who restored the castle The Astors. The Astors were holding seances in the castle. Their personal living quarters are well persevered and VERY HAUNTED!!!!

Who was the most influential to you when you were starting out?

It would have to be hands down Patricia Hannighan, in Micheldever, near Winchester

How did you get involved working on Most Haunted and what was it like working with the team?

I have a friend who knows Yvette and Karl. I went to the location just to watch and the next thing I knew, I was invited on camera. Until that time only my personal clients knew that I was a sensitive.

On Living with the dead what was the best investigation you came across and why and what was it like working with Ian Lawman?

The best one for me was the house in Saddleworth. The doors swinging and the noises, the lady on the stairs, that place is well and truly haunted. I love working with Ian Lawman. He is genuinely gifted and kind. I learn some thing from him on every investigation. We are friends on and off camera.

What advice would you give to anyone realising their mediumistic abilities?

Study everything you can. Find good spiritualist churches and attend open circles. Develop your talents. Attend classes.  Have an open heart and mind. Develop patience.

Are you working on anything at the moment that you could tell us about?

I am finishing a Vampire novel which I have been working on for 10 years. I am also working on several different formats for the American market which involve Ian Lawman and me.

What are your plans for the future?

To further develop my gifts.
