Kirsty's Mini Interview:

Tell us a little about how you became involved with the paranormal?
I became interested in the Paranormal from a very young age around four years old. It started from me talking to invisible people my parents couldn't see i would sit alone and have conversations with different invisible people my parents put it down to imaginary friends but to me these people were very real indeed. My interest in the Paranormal was made even deeper when my Nan passed away in 1991, she passed away suddenly in the night and i awoke in the morning and i was told she had passed away i sat crying on the stairs as my nan was placed on a stretcher she was taken out of the front door infront of me and i saw her smile at me and it gave me such a comforting feeling and made me realise she was still with me. Over the next few monthes i began to feel my nan's spirit more and more around me she would stroke my hair and speak to me and give me messages to pass on to my family which they started to believe that i was seeing and speaking to my nan. The next few years were spent reading and watching anything i could on the Paranormal and then i decided to get the internet and i came across a Paranormal group called Yorkshire Paranormal Society which i joined for a while and then i joined Sheffield Paranormal investigations and i have travelled all over the UK to investigate in some of the UK's well known and not so well known Most Haunted places and i have enjoyed every minute.

Is there one case that stands out more than any other you could tell us about?
Well i am a believer and to visit any supposed Haunted place is such a great thing for me as i feel honoured to have been able to visit and i have loved and enjoyed visiting all of the places i have been to. There are two places that stand out most for me and they would be Guildhall in Leicester as i had my bottom pinched by a sneaky ghost that often does the same to unsuspecting female visitors but which i didn't know about until the investigation had ended and believe me i was very suprised hehe, the other place would have to be The Hellfire Caves in West Wycombe as i believe that this place is truly haunted and the experiences and changes i saw people go through there were incredible and frightening.

How can you prove to my readers that ghosts exist and have you any hard Evidence to back this up?
All i can say to this is that i have experienced things i can not explain rationally or scientifically and that if anyone wants evidence that ghosts exist i suggest you go on an investigation to find the evidence yourself otherwise any proof anyone shows you you will not believe because it as not been seen first hand and in front of your own eyes, so any proof you get shown by someone you would never believe because it as not been seen or experienced by yourself.

Have you or any one you know investigated a place were a Poltergeist was haunting a building?
The only place i can recall investigating where there were claims of Poltergeist activity would be in Redcar and i experienced a ghostly face infront of mine which i went on later to draw and the same face had been caught by the occupants on camera in a window. We also picked up on different information about the ghosts that were haunting this building using different methods and when we checked later with the national census all the information was proved to be true.

What do you hope to achieve in your investigations?
To capture definitive proof that Ghosts exist and to feel that i have enjoyed the investigations and that i have acheieved what i have wanted to for myself and my own beliefs and to enjoy every minute of the investigations that i go on now and in the future.

Jon's Mini Interview:

Tell us a little about how you became involved with the paranormal?

It all began for me on Saturday, 6th June 1993 (the following article was written the day after the event By Dave Baker for his magazine "Project Red Book"  for the Yorkshire UFO Society) On Saturday, 6th June 1993, a number of people saw unusual lights maneuvering in the skies over the Shiregreen/Parsons Cross-area of Sheffield. Although the sightings were not in themselves spectacular, the number of independent witnesses, none of whom were aware of the others, and the similarity in their reports, is intriguing.I first heard of the sightings after midnight on the night of 6th June. Jon Slater called me in great excitement only an hour after the event and I was able to take details over the phone while they were still fresh in his mind. I took down notes, and called him back the next day to arrange to interview Jon and his mother, which 1 did on Sunday afternoon.

SIGHTING #1

Jon Slater is a 32-year old school groundsman living in Molineaux Road, Shiregreen. On Saturday night he decided to take his dog for a walk before going to bed. He opened the front door and was immediately confronted with the sight of 3 unusual objects in the sky ahead and above him. He called for his mother and she joined him on the front steps of their house.

The objects were a very bright orange, in a horizontal line, moving very slowly northwards, away from the witnesses. Jon estimates their size as that of a 10p piece held at arms length. They appeared to be. Self-luminous, sharply defined solid.

No larger form behind or between them. There was absolutely no sound. The lights were very distinct against the darkness and the low, heavy cloud cover.

Jon left his mother watching while he ran inside and telephoned his friend who lives close by. Jon then returned to the doorstep, where his mother reported that the objects had simply continued to move very slowly northwards in his absence. (The call was quick, but by the time his friend had dressed, the objects had gone.)

As they watched, the 'right-hand' object (#3) suddenly picked up speed and sped off northwards and out of sight, "faster than a jet." Jon had snapped his fingers to indicate the speed of the object's departure

The middle object (2) then sped north, but suddenly stopped dead. It appeared to shrink in size (or diminish in brightness), grow in size (or flare up again), then shrink (or darken) and vanish altogether.

The 'left-hand' object  then sped oil in the same direction as the other two, also faster than a jet", abruptly turning at a sharp angle to the north-west with no change in speed, to vanish in the distance.

The entire event lasted approximately one and a half minutes. Jon and his mother kept a watch on the sky for some time afterwards but saw nothing else unusual.

Jon was impressed with the speed of the objects' departure, the 'sudden stop' of the second object and sharp angle turn of the third, the complete silence and the intense brightness and colour of the lights, which he likened to the afterburners of a conventional jet.

Although Jon has an interest in UFOs and collects Quest International's Ufo Magazine, 1 found him to be a reliable and intelligent witness who described what he saw, with no attempts to elaborate on or exaggerate any details. His story the following afternoon did not change from his excited report over the phone on Saturday night.

I will add the full report in our blog soon.

Following that experience i joined the Yorkshire UFO Society then i joined a Sheffield paranormal group and i have been all over the UK investigating in some of the most haunted places you can think of.

Is there one case that stands out more than any other you could tell us about?
Being a skeptic no case really stands out to me, but i have loved visiting nearly all of the places i have been too on my travels...but if pressed into making a choice it would be The Manor Castle Pub in Sheffield.

How can you prove to my readers that ghosts exist and have you any hard Evidence to back this up?
I have seen things that i can't explain in my time in haunted houses, but i have my skeptical head on all the time and i look for logical answers to what is happening while people are saying it must be a "ghost" when all it whats happening is the hot water pipes are cooling down.

Have you or any one you know investigated a place were a Poltergeist was haunting a building?
Only place i have been too where a polergeist allegedly haunted a building was in Redcar but nothing happened to me, just a fellow investigator had his hair pulled.

What do you hope to achieve in your investigations?
To come face to face with hard evidence ie a ghost standing in front of me and not just seeing orb pictures all the time (just go outside in the rain and you get loads of them or go to a dusty house)
