Bolling Hall Phenomena:

  • Sightings of ghosts at the hall date back to 1643 when the Earl of Newcastle (The head of the Royalist Army) was given a fright when he felt his bedclothes being dragged from him and to add to his fright he saw a ghostly lady rubbing her hands together and saying `Pity poor Bradford', due to seeing this apparition he decided to change his orders from Kill all in Bradford to that his army should only kill the people who resisted.

  • Sightings of a lady dressed in pink have been reported
  • The sounds of rattling and voices have been heard

Whilst on Investigation at Bolling Hall HRPI experienced quite a few different types of Phenomena. One group of members witnessed a door in the Earl's bedroom open and close at will or when instructed to do so by several of the members, strange footstep like noises were experienced in the Blue room and one of the members felt a very uneasy feeling of being watched from the corridor leading to this room. Several female members picked up on the spirits of children and a huge black misty apparition was seen by three female members going down into the cellar. The Guildhall Leicester

The Guildhall Phenomena:

  • Five ghosts have been reported at The Guildhall

  • The ghostly figure of an officer as also been reported
  • Footsteps have also been reported in the roof area of The Guildhall which are supposedly related with the Victorian Police force connection to the building
  • A phantom dog as been witnessed by a medium who also claimed to pick up on the ghost of a Cavalier

What HRPI Experienced:

When we visited The Guildhall in leicester we were not told at first about the spirits that are said to haunt the building. Jon HRPI Co-founder and another member of the team attempted Scrying to see what they could pick up, Jon stood a fair distance away from the other member and they both concentrated on each others faces for a few moments and the rest of the team plus Jon and his scrying partner watched as we saw their expressions change. Jon's facial features turned into a man with long flowing locks and a daunting expression whilst we saw the other member gradually change into an old lady with grey hair tired back and small glasses on the tip of her nose (she had a very strict expression) and she also seemed to be carrying a book of somekind. After the investigation was over the tour guide showed us all a photograph of The lady we had witnessed our team member change into and she was the old headmistress of the school that was run at The Guildhall.

Also during the investigation one of our team members was asked to attempt Scrying with a crystal ball what she picked up was amazing, she had picked up on face of William Shakespeare and the ghost of a dog the tour guide was astonished as he went on to tell the team that William Shakespeare had once played at The Guildhall and it was basically impossible for our member to know this due to the fact that it is not written anywhere in any book or on the internet and it is only available in the records of the Hall and as for the ghost dog it was the most recent spirit reported to have been seen.

When we were taken for a quick tour of the hall when we arrived we were told by the two tour guides that we would not be able to investigate in the attic area of the building due to the fact that it has been officially closed down because it is unsafe for anyone to be up there including the guides and if they were to venture up there they would be fired as it is said to be so unsafe, but during our investigation all our team witnessed a light switch on in the attic and the tour guides had no choice but to go up and switch it off as the only way to turn it off is up in the attic.
